The weather forecast wasn't good but a small party ventured out. Visited the 2 hides

then continued along the path to wooden post with red & white markings. Turning right

along the trail in the vast Gisburn Forest then at a junction. Turned right. Heard then

saw a small flock of Siskins that flew from the Conifers. One of the party spotted a bright

red bird sat in the lower boughs of a Conifer. It turned out to be a male Crossbill.

A female joined it briefly then they both disappeared.

The party continued along the path that ended up back at the Car Park. Lunch was

had sat in the warmth of the cars.

As the weather was turning to Snow, it was decided to call it a day and leave

before we were "snowed in"
